A NEW REGATTA IN HONOR OF OUR 125TH ANNIVERSARY
Our 125th Anniversary year recognizes this racing tradition by inaugurating a new regatta to southern Lake Michigan. The Columbia Cup Regatta is a two-day event that will offer both high-caliber buoy racing and a competitive distance race. Awards for both the buoy races and the distance competition will be given at post-race parties during the weekend. The highlight of the awards ceremony will be the announcement of the overall regatta winner, which will be recognized with a new perpetual trophy, the Columbia Cup.

To be eligible to compete for the Columbia Cup perpetual trophy, a custom cup being commissioned specifically for this regatta to honor Columbia Yacht Club's 125th Anniversary, yachts must compete in both the buoy race on Saturday, August 5 and the distance race on Sunday, August 6. The Columbia Cup Regatta will be held every year commencing 2017. This year, the Cup is being held the weekend prior to the VERVE Cup Offshore, making participation in both an outstanding opportunity for back-to-back racing for local and visiting yachtsmen alike.
